How did the program help you get where you are?

Gave me knowledge of what to expect in a work environment and how to deal with customers.

How did the program help you get where you are?

The best part of working at the rec was interacting with fellow students & faculty & learning how to handle all kinds of situations.

Aerospace Engineer for Spirit AeroSystems.

 

How did the program help you get where you are?

On top of helping me build leadership skills, I think one of the biggest things I learned while working for the intramural department was how to have fun while working and enjoy my job.

Where are you currently and what is your title? 

Highschool Math Teacher/Volleyball, Basketball, and Track coach at Alvarado Highschool in Alvarado, Texas.

 

How did the program help you get where you are?

Being a supervisor taught me to be a better organizer, time manager, and leader, which are key attributes for a great teacher and coach.

Refaree, Intramural Supervisor, Intramural Manager's Association (IMA) Vice President - Men.

 

Where are you currently and what is your title?

 

Living in Long Beach, CA. Working in Seal Beach, CA as a Ground Support Equipment Product Support Engineer for The Boeing Company.

 

How did the program help you get where you are?

Working for Missouri S&T IMA has helped me with the ability to more easily resolve conflicts and communicate more effectively. Working Intramurals was one of the most fun and practical education experiences I had while at Missouri S&T.  It also began my path towards officiating high school sports, which I am still currently doing and trying to move up to the next level.

I worked as an official for all intramural sports and a supervisor for the program.

 

Where are you currently and what is your title?

I am currently living in Chicago, IL and work as a project engineer and department supervisor for Cargill.

 

How did the program help you get where you are?

The Missouri S&T Intramural Program helped me get where I am today because it was a flexible job that balanced well with school work. It also showed employers I could balance multiple responsibilities throughout the year. Officiating sports also gives you a different perspective on how to deal with two sides of a situation which translates very easily to life.
